Balisage Birds of a Feather Discussion(s)

Birds of a Feather (BoFs, informally) are meetings, or mini-meetings, devoted to a topic of interest. At Balisage, Birds of a feather topics are suggested, usually during the conference day, by conference attendees. We are happy to schedule up to 3 BoFs after the end of the formal program on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday and before the start of the formal program on Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday. Topics will be announced during the conference and also posted in the conference portal during the conference.

How to Form a BOF

To suggest/request a BoF topic send email to btusdin@mulberrytech.com, or send a message through the Whova conference portal. The conference chair will assign BoF spaces based on availability. In the (unlikely) event that there are more requests than available spaces the chair will … juggle.

Why Make a BOF

BOF topics may be inspired by conference presentations or may be other subjects of interest to the markup community. Sometimes just asking questions at the end of a presentation is not enough; there is a need for more discussion involving more people on this important topic. Ask to start o BOF. Want to put together a new group for a standard or grow an old group? Ask to start o BOF.
