I worked with Michael for many years on XML and XML Schema where he and I were co-chairs. Since those projects ended, I have missed his expertise, intelligence, in depth knowledge and overall wonderful demeanor. He will be missed.

Michael's oft repeated and never forgotten advice: "validate early and often" is as good advice today as ever.
