Pay using Credit Card or PayPal account

Use the registration form below to register for Balisage.

  • In the first box select the appropriate type of registration
  • In the second box "Email for Administrative" provide the email address of the person to contact with any administrative questions
  • In the third box "Participant Name & Email" provide the name of the participant as it should appear in the conference portal and the email address the participant will use to interact with the conference portal. Note: this must be a working email address; the conference portal will use it for 2-factor authentication of the participant login.

When you click the “Pay Now” button you will be taken to PayPal, who will process your payment.
Note: you may pay with EITHER a PayPal account or a credit card. The grey button at the bottom of that page that says “Pay with Debit or Credit Card” is simply a grey-color button, it is NOT “greyed-out”.

Alternative Payment Mechanisms

Balisage participants who are uncomfortable using the PayPal payment portal are welcome to send email to info@balisage.net. We will arrange an alternative that meets your needs.

Gratis Registration

A limited number of Gratis (free) registrations are available for people who would like to participate in Balisage but find the registration fee challenging.

To apply for gratis registration for Balisage 2025, send email to info@balisage.net with:

  1. Your Name
  2. Email address for correspondence about your registration
  3. Email address you want to use for the conference registration system (does not have to be the same as corresponding email address)
  4. Short description of your interest in markup
  5. Short description of your interest in Balisage
  6. Statement that the registration fee presents a challenge to your ability to participate in Balisage 2025.

Early Career Registration

To encourage early-career participation in “Balisage: The Markup Conference”, information professionals with less than 5 years’ experience working with markup or marked-up documents are eligible for discount registration. (Early career professionals who give papers at the conference are eligible for free registration).

Refunds

No portion of the registration fee will be refunded unless the event is cancelled. Registration can be transferred to another person up to the day before the conference begins by sending email to info@balisage.net from the registered email address and specifying the name and email address to which the registration should be transferred.
